Is it code to tap into a main 100 amp breaker to create a subbreaker for a/c unit?
need to know if it is code to tap 100 amp beaker to create a sub-breaker for the a/c unit? also a double tap is not allowed on breakers but is it ok to tap a very low voltage such as a doorbell on the breaker which might appear to be doublle tap?
refer to Article 240.21 of the National Electrical Code…us old timers refer to it as the “10 foot tap rule”
